Highly motivated game artist ready to continue a career in the video gaming industry after going back to school to obtain my BAS degree and round out my 3d modeling and management skills.  RELEVANT SCHOOL COURSES

High Resolution Sculpting II – Created a high-resolution character source sculpture and used it to create a low-resolution real time asset. The character was sculpted in Zbrush, re-topologized by hand in Maya using Quad Draw, and textured in Substance Painter using both hand-painting and procedural assets.

•  Production Team 1, 2 and 3 – Managed a game project with a team of students for 3 quarters.  Main responsibility was providing art direction and assignments using Jira to a small team of 3d artists in order to create assets for a final 3d platforming game. Provided art direction, draw overs, inspiration boards and 3d direction to artists who needed guidance. Other responsibilities included modeling environment assets in Maya, building the game world in Unity 3d, and creating small vfx with Unity.

Capstone Portfolio – Conceptualized, 3d modeled, textured and rigged the 3d game protagonist for the Production Team final project. Took initiative to learn how to develop and create a simple, stylized character through a 3d asset pipeline. Used Adobe Photoshop for concept art, Autodesk Maya for 3d art and rigging, and Substance Painter for texturing.

Quality Assurance Tester / Nintendo of America through Aerotek, Redmond WA     08/2018 - 11/2019

  • Responsible for locating and documenting bugs using Nintendo’s in-house bug tracking software. Collaborated with a small team of testers to ensure the quality of upcoming DLC for the Super Smash Brother’s Ultimate game.

  • Recognized for consistently reporting high quality bugs, finding bugs through creative testing, and leadership capabilities in the end-contract review.

Freelance Artist and Animator / Cricket Moon Media, Seattle WA                                 10/2017 - 08/2018

  • Developed assets for mobile games. Used Photoshop and Animate to create 2D art, 2D animation and UI art.

  • Worked remotely with art director to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality assets for various games including:

    • Rusty Rivets: Big Bot Party - Created animations of botarilla and tigerbot dancing, created layouts for intro screens, refined HUD button art.

    • Bubble Guppies: ABC Relay Race - Created 2D art of animals and objects, created animation rigs in Animate for 2d characters.

Online Game Artist III / International Gaming Technology, Reno NV                                                       07/2016 - 09/2017 

  • Hired by former art director at Cricket Moon Media because of previous experience with mobile development. Main duties of the job focused on porting slot game art to a mobile interface, as well as creating 3D art in Maya and Unity for an unreleased R&D project.

  • Refitted UI art and icons for mobile from the slot game Wheel of Fortune: Jackpot Paradise, which is now the face of DoubleDown’s casino app.

  • Attended training at sister studio DoubleDown in Seattle, WA to learn how to use their in-house studio software to create layouts for mobile games in Unity. 

  • Concepted, refined, and animated a symbol set for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents slot game on the Crystal Curve Ultra using Photoshop, Unity and Maya. 

Artist Generalist / Cricket Moon Media, Seattle WA                                                                                      08/2011 - 10/2014

  • Hired on after producing high quality work as an intern out of Bellevue College. Used Adobe Photoshop and Flash to create animation and art for browser-based web games. Delivered finished product to clients such as Disney, Hasbro and PBS. Worked with other artists to collaborate on art assets for a variety of games. Assets included illustration, animation, 2D art, 3d art, and graphic design for score and title screens.  Games contributed include:

    • Furby Maze Game - Character animation, game level layouts and 2d art assets

    • Dan VS This Game - 2D side-scroller main character animation, attack animations, animated cutscenes, additional 2d assets and help screens.

    • The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! Marbelous Marvel Coaster - Animated intro cutscenes, created 2D assets and end screens

    • The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! Boogie Woogie Bird Legs - Animated bird dances, character animations, created HUD layouts for each building screen, created 2d background assets and end screen.

    • My Little Pony: Equestrivia - Pony animations, score screens, quiz screens, award sequences, developed and refined HUD and help screens

    • Monster High: Freaky Fab Photoshoot - Created 2D vector dressup assets for a variety of different monster girls.

    • Bubble Guppies: Animal School Day (ipad app) - Concepted initial screen layouts, animated 3d characters for the intro scene, created backgrounds for an animal mini-game, created various other 2D assets for use in other mini games.

  • Dedicated art lead for 2 browser games, including Bubble Guppies: Happy Valentines Play! And My Little Pony: Power Pony Go! Created visualization layouts, concept art, web graphics, and implemented director revisions for these projects along with almost all other standard assets including animation, HUD art and other 2D assets. Praised for meeting quality standards under tight deadlines.
